Do you enjoy being disturbed? Most of us would immediately respond with, "Of course not!" But if you love watching true crime documentaries, listening to podcasts about heinous acts that were committed decades ago, or watchinghorrormovies in your free time, you probably don't mind.

And if you're interested in seeing some photos that might pique your morbid curiosity, you've come to the right place, pandas. We took a trip to theInteresting but Creepycommunity on Reddit and gathered a list of their most fascinating posts. TheInteresting but Creepysubreddit has been around since 2019, but it's still a very popular community, as it boasts 1,500 weekly visitors today. The group has a simple goal, as its about section states, "this subreddit is for all things you find interesting but creepy." But that doesn't mean that it's boring by any means.

Community members are still sharing a wide variety of photos, screenshots, videos, and more that will disturb viewers. Almost nothing is off limits in this community, meaning that you might come across something that will give you nightmares after scrolling through. We hope that you won't be traumatized by this list, though, just mildly disturbed and, above all, fascinated.

So why exactly are people so captivated by disturbing content in the first place? Well, according to Haiyang Yang and Kuangjie Zhang atHarvard Business Review, one of the main reasons people consume horror content is to experience stimulation.

"Watching a horror video simultaneously activates both types of stimulation, with the most pleasure experienced at the most fearful moment," they explain. "The biochemical inside our bodies also changes when we consume horror. Fright can trigger the release of adrenaline, resulting in heightened sensations and surging energy."

Another reason why people tend to love horror is that it allows us to gain novel experiences. Hopefully, we won't ever know what it feels like to live through the apocalypse or be hunted by zombies. But we can live vicariously through people fighting for their lives in a film or television show, opening us up to new experiences and emotions. Just because the story isn't real doesn't mean the emotions that we feel while watching it aren't real.

Creepycontent also allows us to satisfy our morbid curiosity. If you're a stable human being who's mentally well, you probably wouldn't ever consider harming another person or committing a violent act. But you might be curious about what drives other people to do these things. It can be hard to understand where these atrocities come from without doing some research or trying to get inside the minds of the perpetrators.

So, creepy kinda funny story.Got this guy for Christmas 2016, I was 7. He was probably my favorite thing ever. He is a standard upgrade Throwthings one, I remember obsessing over it and checking the site constantly. I used to put him on a bench in the corner of my room next to a green monster puppet and a full sized Poltergeist clown I made (poorly). In December of 2019, my house caught on fire, and the corner of my room that he was in had practically melted into a giant mass. On the bench, the monster and clown had fused to each other and the bench. They had melted onto Slappy too. He is probably the only thing to survive from my room that wasn't in my closet. I remember before my family realized he was salvageable, I went into my room to see (my parents told me not to, I pushed very hard and I still regret it), and I thought he was done for. He was pitch black covered in soot. It looked like it had just stained him.So, soon after, my parents would check on the house often. We lived with some family that lived nearby for a while, and there was a cleanup crew working on getting all the ruined junk out. My parents very soon discovered that they were also making a pile of stuff they were going to take for themselves. That's where most of the stuff that I still have was, along with jewelry, electronics, etc. I remember one day I got home from school, and Slappy was in the garage, covered in black, but clearly fine.He works perfectly, cleaned up nicely, all the soot was easy to just wipe off. Only permanent damage done was on his clothes, there are some weird pink stains from the soot or something. These are recent photos. He is the sole survivor of a house fire that destroyed almost all of my belongings (all that's left other than Slappy are some plushies and baby toys that were in my closet).Idk, I always thought that was interesting. When I told my friends they said to burn the dummy, it freaks them out a little.

You might even derive pleasure from viewing disturbing content. But the circumstances have to be just right to do so. For example, you need to know that you're physically safe while consuming this content to be able to enjoy it. If you're actually scared for your life, a terrifying movie might feel a little too real. You also have to be detached from the content itself. If you've recently been in a horrific car accident and you see one portrayed in a movie, you might feel triggered and unable to immerse yourself in the story.

© Photo:reddit.com

© Photo:DoctorCumfart

To enjoy horror content, you also have to feel confident that you are in control. For example, you can turn off the movie. You can exit the haunted house. You can tell your partner to stop sharing their spooky story if it becomes overwhelming. If you have no control over the situation, you might actually end up terrified or believing that you're in danger.

Dakota Johnson and Role Model Were 'Kissing' and 'Inseparable' at Her NYE Party

THE RUNDOWN

  • Dakota Johnson hosted a New Year's Eve party for her friends and family.

  • Musical artist Role Model was in attendance.

  • The pair reportedly appeared to be romantically involved.

On New Years's Eve, Dakota Johnson hosted a party for all her friends and her rumored love interest, the musician Role Model, otherwise known as Tucker Pillsbury. A source speaking withEntertainment Tonightstated that they were "inseparable" at the event, which came two weeks after they were first linked romantically.

"Dakota hosted a New Year's Eve party and she and Role Model were inseparable throughout the night," said the source. "They were kissing, dancing and holding onto each other. They looked incredibly happy, cute, and sweet together."Johnson's mother, Melanie Griffith, was also there and appeared to be "completely comfortable" with Role Model, implying she's familiar with the musical artist.

Earlier in December,TMZpublished photos of the pair enjoying a candlelit dinner together, quoting sources that claimed Johnson was "lying on him all cuddled up at the cozy dinner."

Johnson recently ended her relationship with Chris Martin after many years together and a rumored engagement. In November, a source toldPeoplethat Johnson was starting to date again.

"[She] has been slowly dating again, and she's happy," the insider said. "Her relationship with Chris was often hot and cold, and while she always hoped they'd work out, she seems lighter and more at peace now that it's final."

In her interview withThe Materialistscostar Pedro Pascal in May, Johnson talked about dating and matchmaking.

"I've never dated anybody," sheconfessed. "I've had boyfriends, but I have never been on a dating app. I just don't know that world. So, it was so interesting and intriguing. It's the most beautiful side of humanity, but it can also be the most ugly. Loving someone is the most scary and beautiful thing you can do."

FACT FOCUS: Trump repeats false claims as he discusses US raid to extract Venezuela's president

President Donald Trump on Saturday held an extended news conference to explain theU.S. raid on Venezuelato extract President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, at times veering off topic and repeating false claims around his initiatives.

In praising the military, Trump highlighted National Guard deployments into U.S. cities, making erroneous claims about crime in Washington, D.C., Chicago and Los Angeles.

Here's a closer look at the facts.

TRUMP, discussing the impact of U.S. strikes on boats allegedly carrying drugs from Venezuela: "Each boat kills on average, 25,000 people."

THE FACTS: Trump has previously made this claim suggesting that 25,000 American lives are saved with every alleged drug boat U.S strikes "take out." But the numbers don't add up and sometimes don't exist. For example, people in the U.S. who die from drug overdoses each year are far fewer than the number of people Trump suggests have been saved by the boat strikes his administration has carried out since September.

According to thelatest preliminary datafrom the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Vital Statistics System, there were up to 76,516 drug overdose deaths in the U.S. during the 12-month period that ended in April 2025, down 24.5% from the up to 101,363 for the previous 12-month period.

The U.S. military has attackedat least 35 boatsin the Caribbean Sea and eastern Pacific Ocean since strikes began on Sept. 2, most recently on Dec. 31. Using Trump's numbers, that would mean the strikes have prevented 875,000 fatal drug overdoses in the U.S — far more than the number of overdose deaths that have occurred in recent 12-month periods. This essentially implies that the administration is saving more lives than would have ever been lost.

Opioids accounted for 73.4% of drug overdose deaths in 2024,according to the CDC's State Unintentional Drug Overdose Reporting System. That includes 65.1% from illegally made fentanyls. But while the boat strikes have targeted vessels largely in the Caribbean Sea, fentanyl is typically trafficked to the U.S.overland from Mexico, where it is produced with chemicals imported from China and India.

TRUMP, discussing the National Guard deployment in Washington, D.C.: "We haven't had a killing. We had the terrorist attack a few weeks ago, a little bit of a different kind of threat. But we haven't had a killing in a long period of time. Six, seven months."

THE FACTS: Trump has alsomade this false claimbefore. There have been59 homicidesin the past seven months, including two last week, according to the latest Metropolitan Police Department statistics.

That number also includes thefatal shootingof a West Virginia National Guard member on Nov. 26 by an Afghan national. Another Guard member was injured in the shooting, which FBI Director Kash Patel said was being investigated as anact of terrorism.

The city saw126 homicidesin 2025, 29 of whichoccurred afterNational Guard troops were deployed to the nation's capital on Aug. 11.

In launching the deployment, Trumpdeclared a public safety emergencyand said his administration also would be removing homeless encampments. He said he aimed to reduce crime, but the city's attorney general said violent crime in the district reached 30-year lows in 2024 and was down an additional 26% in 2025.

TRUMP, discussing National Guard deployments in Chicago and Los Angeles: "We also helped, as you know, in Chicago. Then crime went down a little bit there ... And likewise, Los Angeles, where — we saved Los Angeles early on."

THE FACTS: Guard members were never on the streetsin Chicagoas legal challenges played out. When the Chicago deployment was challenged in court, a Justice Department lawyer said the Guard's mission would be to protect federal properties and government agents in the field, not "solving all of crime in Chicago."

Between 2020 and 2024, homicides in Chicago were down 25%. However, rape increased 27%, while robbery went up 17% and aggravated assault up 11%.

Trump deployed about 4,000 National Guard members and 700 Marines to Los Angeles in June to guard federal buildings and, later, to protect federal agents as they carried out immigration arrests.

The number of troops slowly dwindled until just several hundred were left. They were removed from the streets by Dec. 15 after a lower court ruling that also ordered control to be returned to Gov. Gavin Newsom. But an appeals court had paused the second part of the order, meaning control remained with Trump. In a Tuesday court filing, the Trump administration said it was no longer seeking a pause in that part of the order.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on Wednesday ordered the Trump administration to return control of the National Guard to Newsom.
