About Our Ads Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement The Indiana Fever have dealt with a lot of drama and change over the past couple of weeks.
They fired their general manager, Amber Cox. She had been with the team since 2024. She wasn't the only one leaving. Kelly Krauskopf stepped down as president of basketball and business operations. Krauskopf had two stints with the franchise.
The Fever couldn't get out of the first round, and many criticized their offseason moves. Indiana has a couple of key free agents, including the always polarizing Sophie Cunningham . She was at F1 in Austin and weighed in on the team's future.

Sophie Cunningham is never afraid to share her opinion. That was no different when asked about the major changes within the Fever's franchise. The 30-year-old had this to say:
"There was not a lot of warning and that's okay. I think that's probably a good thing that you kind of keep it in-house a little bit. But you know what, Kelly and Amber, they're phenomenal, phenomenal people.
They cared a lot about us as players and as individuals outside the court, and so I have nothing but great things to say about them. Hopefully the fever come in and bring people who can do a really good job for that program and so I was blessed to be under Kelly and Amber and I hope them the very best and so we'll see what happens"
It was interesting that she talked like she might not be back with the organization. Cunningham is a free agent, but there's always noise around her, and it could impact her future .
The Missouri product is a capable 3-and-D type player. She averaged 7.9 PPG while shooting 41.9% from three-point land. She plays well with Caitlin Clark and serves as her 'enforcer' when teams get physical with her. Clark could have a say in Cunningham's future and will likely be consulted on roster decisions.
