Reimer recently joined the organization on an AHL tryout as the Blueshirts looked to bring in more experience at the position after losing All-Star starter Igor Shesterkin for the rest of the season.

The veteran stopped all 35 shots he faced, recording a shutout in his lone appearance with Hartford.

Now Reimer receives an opportunity in the pros, looking to provide some relief for rookie Dylan Garand , who has seemingly hit a wall after starting each of the last seven games.

Garand's allowed five goals in back-to-back contests, both of which resulted in losses.

As for Reimer, the 38-year-old last appeared in the NHL last season, recording a 2.42 GAA and .886 save percentage across 14 appearances with the Senators.

He's also spent time with the Maple Leafs, Panthers, Hurricanes, Sharks, Red Wings, Ducks, and Sabres over the course of his 16-year NHL career.
